Minimal wage for quick meals workers in California rose to $20 per hour on Monday, impacting greater than half one million staff.

The laws establishing the brand new minimal wage – AB 1228 – was passed last September and took impact on April 1, elevating the minimal wage by 20% from $16 per hour to $20 per hour. The brand new wage impacts staff at limited-service eating places which can be a part of a nationwide quick meals chain with a minimum of 60 institutions nationwide, in keeping with the State of California’s Department of Industrial Relations.
